In the past, those who wish to enhance their chin or correct their facial proportions had to undergo painful surgeries to alter their bony structures. Thankfully, with chin fillers, we are now able to achieve that result with simple non-surgical methods that do not result in any significant downtime. Fillers are placed strategically to sculpt your chin, define your jawline and slim the face to achieve a “V-shape”.
Topical anaesthesia is used prior to the procedure to maximise comfort. Additionally, the Juvederm range of fillers that is used in our clinic has local anaesthesia incorporated in the product to further minimise any pain or discomfort. The procedure itself may take about 30 to 60minutes, depending on how many other treatment areas will be done in one session.
Patients may experience some temporary bruising, swelling and pain after the procedure that will resolve over the next 1 to 2 weeks. Immediate results will be visible after the procedure itself, but will gradually improve further as the swelling subsides. Results will last for 1 to 2 years, after which you may repeat the procedure to maintain the desired outcome.
