The specific wavelengths of a laser determines which components of the skin best absorbs the laser, as well as how deep it penetrates into our skin. This allows us to specifically target pigmentary conditions like sun or age spots and even tattoos.
The unique 755nm wavelength of the PicoSure®️ is absorbed 50X stronger by melanin (pigment) than blood or water, compared to 2.5 – 16X in traditional pigment lasers. This ability to specifically target melanin while minimising unwanted collateral absorption allows us to deliver the desired clinical results consistently and safely, minimising the associated downtime and risks.
